Mujeres Que Mueven needs your help.
As Mujeres Que Mueven is located in a small, isolated community in Nicaragua, it is difficult for residents to get access to clean water and basic necessities.
Risk factors in the community include malnutrition, high BMI, high instances of diabetes and pre-diabetes as well as kidney disease driven by poor diet, lack of basic nutrition education and little access to clean water. Other challenges for our women include domestic abuse and sexual violence, respiratory issues from cooking over open fire and trash burning. With your donation, we can make a significant impact by addressing the various needs of the community.
Health and nutrition education: Your support can enable us to offer comprehensive health and nutrition education programs. We can conduct workshops and training sessions that focus on healthy eating habits, balanced diets, and the importance of regular exercise. Providing educational materials and resources will empower women to make informed decisions about their health and improve their overall well-being.
Domestic abuse and sexual violence: Mujeres Que Mueven can create safe spaces and support systems for women who have experienced domestic abuse and sexual violence. As our program evolves and we have our own space we plan to offer counseling and advocacy services to help survivors heal.
Mujeres Que Mueven is also interested in developing scholarships in addition to the educational resources we offer, to ensure that women have access to quality education, empowering them to break the cycle of poverty and improve their future prospects.
Proper equipment and footwear: By investing in suitable exercise equipment, such as barbells and weights, made from safe and durable materials, we can enhance the effectiveness and safety of the exercise programs provided by Mujeres Que Mueven. Additionally, we can supply women with proper footwear, such as sneakers, to prevent injuries and discomfort during workouts.
